Under The Skin

This wordless picture book is inspired by the rise of appearance anxiety on social media. While some influencers promote diverse standards of beauty, many people still feel pressure to conform, which can lead to emotional stress, unhealthy diets, or cosmetic surgery.

In my personal experiences, I noticed that women are affected more, often due to societal and relational expectations. To create an ironic twist, the story follows a male character who experiences appearance anxiety and struggles to find a way out. Through this work, I aim to highlight the harmful effects of rigid beauty standards and raise awareness of the vulnerability of those affected.
